The Concrete Team is owned and operated by Jim Denney and Mike Ritter, two local owners with deep roots in the Scotia and Glenville area.
Jim and Mike have known each other since 1973, and they continue to run the business with a local, family-focused approach. When you contact The Concrete Team, you are not dealing with a national chain or a high-pressure sales company. You are working with an experienced local team that cares about doing the job right.
Project estimates are provided by one of the owners, not a commissioned salesperson. That means you get practical advice from someone who understands the work, the materials, the process, and the local conditions that cause concrete to sink in Upstate New York.
We will only recommend the work we believe is needed. If your concrete can be lifted, repaired, resurfaced, or stabilized, we will explain your options. If another repair makes more sense, we will tell you that too.
Our Story
The Concrete Team started in 2006 as part of The Crack Team, a foundation crack repair franchise. In the early years, our work focused on foundation crack repair, basement waterproofing, foundation stabilization, and other services related to fixing concrete and foundation problems.
By 2009, we saw a major need in our area for concrete raising and leveling. Uneven sidewalks, sinking driveways, settled patios, garage floors, steps, and commercial slabs were creating safety problems for homeowners, businesses, and communities.
At the time, very few companies in the area were focused on this type of concrete repair.
So we added concrete raising to our service offering and later operated as Concrete Raising of Upstate New York. As our services grew, we became The Concrete Team to better reflect the full range of concrete and foundation solutions we provide.
Today, concrete lifting remains the main focus of our company.

Concrete raising, concrete leveling, concrete lifting, mudjacking, and slabjacking are all terms people use when they are looking for a way to fix uneven concrete without tearing it out and pouring new concrete.
The Concrete Team has been raising concrete since 2009. We understand how concrete settles, why voids form under slabs, and how to bring concrete back to a safer, more usable position.
We specialize in mudjacking, also called slabjacking. This process pumps a grout-like material beneath the slab to fill voids, support the concrete, and raise settled areas back toward level.

The Concrete Team is a local company with strong family and community ties.
Jim is a USMC veteran, a longtime business owner, a former Mayor, a former Councilman, and someone with a long history of community service. His background helped shape the company’s focus on safe, walkable communities and practical repair solutions.
Family is also part of the business. Jim’s daughter Kayleigh helps manage the office, customer service, and scheduling. His son James, who serves full-time in the military, helps on complex and larger projects when needed. Mike has also had family members working on the crew.
Over the years, The Concrete Team has also hired many local college-age crew members, often giving them their first job. Some have gone on to graduate, join the military, or use the experience they gained here to move into other career paths.
We are proud of that.
